About TNQAB

TNQAB's role in the education sector is to ensure that Tonga qualifications are regarded as credible, nationally and internationally, in order to help learners succeed in their chosen endeavours and to contribute to the Tongan society.

 

TNQAB Responsibilities

  • Developing a National Qualifications Framework for post compulsory education and training (PCET)
  • Review and revise cooperate plans
  • Establish Policies, Criteria, Accreditation, Monitoring, Reviewing, Register and listing of providers of post compulsory education and training in Tonga
  • Qualification recognition and standard-setting for specified unit standards.

TNQAB reports to the Minister of Education.

 

TNQAB Vision

To effect change in Tongan society whereby the needs of learners across post compulsory education and training (PCET) are at the centre of an open, responsive and integrated qualifications system.

 

TNQAB Mission

To lead the implementation of the Tonga Qualifications Framework(TQF) in partnership with qualifications awarding bodies, Education and training providers so as other key stakeholders. TNQAB will ensure the quality and effectiveness of the TQF and that it benefits learners, the economy and society.
